Description Of Work... Completely remodeled 1st floor of 3,000 sqft ranch style house.
We contacted Tim Sedgwick/Studio City to renovate our single story home in N. Dallas. This was a major project involving the addition of a 1000 square foot second story and renovation of the downstairs space to include a larger master bedroom suite with a completely new Master bathroom.
Mr. Sedgwick did an outstanding job coordinating all of the sub-contractors, the architect, and the city of Dallas code inspector. He demonstrated a superior ability to manage large and complex project and was able to complete the project on time and on budget.
We were thoroughly impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. Tim was on-site every day and was always available to meet with us. The quality of his work is superb and he demanded the same from his sub-contractors. He approached the project as a craftsman, not just as a contractor. We discussed design and functionality and made several improvements to the architect’s initial plan based on his recommendation and expertise. Tim has a keen eye for aesthetics and takes pride in his work. He pays attention to the smallest detail and everything is perfect and beautiful.
Tim was a pleasure to work with and we have no reservation in recommending him to friends and neighbors. As a full time working professional with young children, we really appreciated dealing with such integrity and professionalism. We had complete confidence that the project was running smoothly every step of the way. We had a wonderful experience and our family will be enjoying our beautiful, updated home for many years.

It is my great pleasure to recommend STUDIO CITY to anyone looking for a quality remodeling job. Tim Sedgwick and his team have done a number of projects at our home over the last 15 years. About five years ago, we were getting a little bored with living here and were ready to move. But Tim added on a couple rooms and opened up space and added color to make it seem like we were living in a new home.
Tim will give you an honest days work and you can count on him finishing the job on time and on budget. He will go the extra mile to make sure you will love the new home.
Finding a contractor is easy. Hiring one who is competent, honest and creative is another ballgame which is why I will bring Tim’s team in for any future work.

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to commend Tim Sedgwick and his team at Studio City. Tim and Studio City did a fantastic job remodeling our house on Goodwin Ave in the Dallas M. Streets Vickery Place neighborhood. His dedication, hard work, and attention to detail on the project ensured the success of the project.
Our plan called for adding an attic master bedroom suite to our 1500 square, Tudor house, built in 1926, increasing the footage to 2,100 square foot. Stairs were also added and the living room was enlarged. Our greatest concern with the project was the ability of the builder to integrate the character and charm of our 1926 home with the new addition. This was one of the reasons we chose Studio City. Tim has a great understanding of architecture over multiple time periods and he has an eye for detail that maintains and improves the overall charm of the house. The new second story addition includes baseboards and crown molding that compliment the original work. Tim was able to find doors for the upstairs to match the downstairs doors for the upstairs to match the downstairs doors that must have dated back to 1926.
Tim is also very skilled at tweaking plans that look good on paper but don’t well in real life once the project is underway. We discussed and altered the ceiling structure in both the master bedroom and master bathroom to get the optimal mix between height and appearance. We also discussed and moved the location of several windows. I also have to commend him for the great work on the TV/Video closet. I have a very complicated electronics system that includes multiple satellite receivers, surround sound in multiple rooms, DVD players, etc. He was able to work with me on designing the TV/Video closet that acted as a nerve center for all the audio/video components in the house, as well as a TV counter for the master bedroom TV.
Overall, Tim and Studio City, including both Ron and Tim’s wife Dixie did a fantastic job updating our house. Not only is it much more livable, but it’s market value has greatly increased. Thanks once again for a job well done.

Dear Tim,
I wanted to let you know how tremendously pleased my husband and I are with the remodeling project that you just completed in our home. The first day we discussed our project with you, after interviewing 4 other contractors, we were extremely impressed with your promptness, professionalism and your ability to visualize what we wanted to do.
Your wonderful design and construction consultation opened our eyes to the many possibilities that existed for our home. We especially appreciated your steering us away from things that cost a lot but would not look good in our home.
We’ve been told by friends that our remodel looks like it came straight out of a home decorating magazine! We now have a beautiful and functional kitchen and that all of our friends are just raving about! When have friends and family over, everyone is in a state of shock of how great the living room and kitchen looks. Suffice it to say that we just love our kitchen – the way it looks, it’s increased functionality and all the nice “touches” that you recommended that make it look great and ties in with the rest of the house. The crown work around the fireplace has added style and architectural character to a once mundane 1960s ranch house.
Our dream would not have been a reality with out the expertise you provided in making sure everything was done to perfection. Even when issues came up that were unexpected they were always handled professionally and promptly. Our project, to many, would have seemed simple but because of our concern for detail and quality workmanship, we wanted and expected the best.
You will come highly recommended by us to anyone looking to do the type of remodeling. This day and age it is hard to find a company.

Tim has done all of the major renovations on my 1920's house. He has offered various options and I've always been happy with the quality workmanship done in my kitchen, bath, floors, doors, and woodwork.

I had seen Tim's work in the M street area and wanted him to add a room and garage to a house I had bought in Corsicana. I chose Tim because he has the ability to not just build well, but to put the extra artistic touch on his plans. Tim exceeded our expectations and worked with us so we could stay within a budget. I wasn't sure that having the extra touch that makes a good job great and a budget could coexist, but Tim made it happen. The work he did was in 2003 and we are still happy with the work. Oh yes, he met a pretty tight time requirement too.

Tim Sedgewick has done several projects for us, including building a new two-car garage and laying a new concrete driveway. These were done ten years ago, and are still in excellent condition. We were pleased with Tim's suggestion to cover the garage exterior with slate, rather than siding. The slate remains maintenance-free and is quite attractive.
This past year, Tim refinished our hardwood floors, and installed granite kitchen countertops, a new sink, and new range. We are pleased with our new kitchen and floors. When we are ready for further remodeling, we will call Tim.
